Warm, clean and well equipped cottage, set in serene surroundings. Lovely evenings watching the Deer, Red Kites and owls which made regular visits. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will look to stay again in the future. Good communication with the property owners.

There aren't enough stars to give this for the location...deserves at least 10! Absolutely fabulous setting surrounded by trees & wildlife and the amazing bird life. Set within easy access to walking & cycle routes along the Derwent Trail and yet still close to all the amenities & the A1 for exploring by car.

Lovely place, view of the ruin and daily visits by deer. Also saw other wildlife. Track to the property a little challenging after dark as not lit, but fine. Great location for us. Put Gibside Chapel in my Sat nav which worked well as it is directly opposite. The owners were friendly and very helpful

We had an excellent week in an isolated spot surrounded by hayfields and trees and a variety of wildlife. There were decent attractions within reasonable distance. The hosts were welcoming and the accommodation comfortable.
